How We Make a Difference

Every new project begins with a hand drawn draft design, in the traditional way. We capture every detail caring for aesthetics while we meet the needs of our customers. We select finest materials taking the functionality of the piece into account and we lavishly craft them, denoting the acquired experience over the three generations of the family shaping Tapicerias Paris. Making high-quality products well is the first ingredient of our recipe for success.

Improving the lives of people is our target. We care for our workers feeling at ease working because we esteem high-quality workmanship and we are aware of the value of craftmanship. Most of the raw materials we use are proximity ones, mainly from the Iberian Peninsula. We have a great selection of fabrics, vinyl, faux-leathers and leathers from different national and international suppliers to fit any budget. We work with fabrics, natural and recycled materials as well as technical ones depending on the requirements of each project. We also offer upholstery services to be more sustainable and to avoid waste generation, because making the most of a good frame helps preventing unnecessary felling of trees while we reduce environmental impact.

We want to pass the savoir-faire and urging to excel in our DNA on every artwork we finish. We seek balance between design and art with our work. Every item we craft is one of a kind and authentic because we employ tradition, but we adjust innovation with the latest trends.

Our Story

The history of Tapicerias Paris is a story of personal growth, resilience and continuous improvement efforts spanning different generations.

Enrique Rodriguez Carmona, our founder, began as an upholsterer in the Spanish Protectorate of Morocco. His urge to excel and perfectionism made him a benchmark professional in Tetouan and Tangier then.

In 1951 he decided to go to Brazil to try his luck and established a little workshop called Decorações Tanger in Sao Paulo. He was a pioneer using latex for his high-end upholstered furniture. Thanks to his hard work, dedication, and by making well-implemented quality products, he succeeded in gradually growing and changed that humble studio for a factory where luxury furniture, upholstered with the fabrics made in situ, was produced. Therefore, in 1955, he and Oswaldo Falci, a Brazilian businessman, became associates and founded Tapeçaria e Decorações Tanger, located at Rua Domingo de Moraes, 149. His brothers joined him afterwards as staff members to help him with the business. In 1960 their high-end goods were sold at furniture retailers all over the country and they had their own stores in the main cities in Brazil.

In 1967 he came back to Spain, to Barcelona, where he spent a few years working at a small workshop. Finally, he moved to Malaga, building on Costa del Sol success as a pioneer in Spanish tourism, and founded Tapicerias Paris at Calle Moreti, 14. It has been a leading upholstery and curtains making business for the local hospitality industry working for hotels such as: the Pez Espada, the 3 Carabelas (current Hotel Meliá Costa del Sol) or Castillo de Santa Clara Hotels in Torremolinos; the Tritón and the Alay Hotels in Benalmadena; or the San Miguel and Don Carlos Hotels in Marbella; in addition to the Cleopatra Night Club in Torremolinos.

The second generation, led by his son Enrique Rodriguez Daza, took over Tapicerias Paris in 1974. He made good relations with foreign businesspeople, architects and interior designers who commissioned work internationally. He grew the business and moved its headquarters from Calle Moreti and a surface area of 150 square meters to our current 1,500-square-meter facilities in Calle Atajate, 15 at Poligono Industrial La Estrella.

Nowadays, the third generation and his direct descendants, Alberto, Alejandro and Patricia are at the helm of the company. They have updated it, bringing it to the digital age, always bearing in mind tradition. They keep on striving for excellence thanks to Enrique's wisdom and accumulated experience, breaking ground with comfort, and offering a premium service and workmanship to companies and private individuals.

At Tapicerias Paris we want to craft top-quality comfort and make the world more visually pleasing and welcoming.
